Corrugated cardboard has the highest recycling rate of any form of packaging in the world. 84% of all corrugated produced is recycled in the UK. Around 2m tonnes per annum is saved from landfill.

In turn corrugated boxes are made from 75% recycled material and the recycling loop can be completed in as little as 2 weeks.

Paper cannot be recycled indefinetly however- the fibres need to replenished with fresh material sourced from sustainable sources.

Corrugated producers have through better design and use of new technology, use 20% lighter material than a decade ago, with no reduction in structural properties.

Corrugated can be used to print virtually any design to market as well and protect consumer products.

Appromimately 5 billion boxes are used in the UK each year, which amounts to 83 per person per year.

Corrugated gets products to market faster than any other form of packaging. In flat packed form it saves around 90% space.

The energy used in the production and distribution of packaging is around 1 tenth of that used in the food supply chain.
